John Mayer - Comfortable

In the silence of the night, with the new moon glowing.

His boyish smile brings warmth to her amidst the winter chill.

Stealthily, she leaves a good night kiss on his forehead, light as a feather.

"Good bye silly boy"

She whispers as she walks away, touching his nose as she always did, for one last time.

"Be happy"

Rock this.

My girls a star
My baby, no ones touchin my lady
My girls a star
My sugar, always give me that good love
My girls a star
Believe me, do whatever to please me
My girls a star

My girls a star, I'll build a rocketship
take my rocketship wherever you are
My girls a star, I'll build a rocketship
take my rocketship wherever you are

Wherever, cause look, it really don't matter
like yo girl cool, but look, mine badder
She count my doe, then we get blown

My girls a star
My baby, no ones touchin my lady
My girls a star
My sugar, always give me that good love
My girls a star
Believe me, do whatever to please me
My girls a star

Top down let the wind blow
baby girl hands hangin out my window (window)
baby girl got sun glow
might take a sip, but never touch indo (indo)

uh huh (uh huh)
hell yea (hell yea)

love taps get rough like rugby (rugby)
ain't afraid to get touchy

so fresh so clean just sexy
uh huh (uh huh)
hell yea (hell yea)

My girls a star, I'll build a rocketship
take my rocketship wherever you are
My girls a star, I'll build a rocketship
take my rocketship wherever you are

Now things tend to slip my mind, but somethin that will never
is that your better, that and your clever
so its a bonus your body happens to be sicker than ever
I'm lookin at you while I'm sippin my beverage

My sugar, always give me that good love
My girls a star
Believe me, do whatever to please me

Holy Crap

I have one week to write out a full formal report on one of the totalitarian tactics in George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, making references to its employment during Hitler's dictatorial period and during Stalin's Soviet Union. I also have to comment on it's relevance in today's society.

I totally heart the Australian English curriculum due to its exposure to a wide array of topics and issues, and also totally adore doing research projects.

But NOT when I have an additional four tests on the sideline.

This is crap!

Total bullshit and bloody baboons!

Ignore my random outburst.
I'm usually very docile.

I kid you not!

I shall sulk my way to bed now.
Stuffy nose and teary eyes make Elise a ranting bitch!

Impression

"Of course in your case, you must be so used to people stating how breathtakingly cute you are, that it just fades into the background ...

I can see I'll have to try extra hard to come up with a suitable compliment for you.

Let's see ... you read the dictionary ... I know!

My dear, you are as pulchritudinous as you are erudite; as fair as a summer's day, as graceful as the ocean, mysterious as the moon and more beautiful than all the stars in the sky.

...well, maybe I need to work on my prose.

Still, it's a start. :) "

Handy girl is Me !

I changed my first ever light bulb today.
Not just one, but two!

*hops around in joy*

I was totally excited about the task, which left my housemate questioning my sanity. I was practically running in and out of the house to get stuff, and running across the road borrowing screwdrivers from a sweet old neighbour.

And now I know what the heck a Philips screwdriver is!
I know there are different types of them, but never knew that they have such names.

Hahaha.

Being the ever mischievous and loony me, I broke the bulb because I've never done so before, and I wanna see the anatomy of it.

A dull 'POP' and it burst.

Ahh... Satisfying experience.
I'm a happy girl.

=D

While waiting for Nayaab to be back with the new bulbs, Poh Chee and I went loopy and started taking pictures of the front lawn.

The new bulbs came and we took turn fixing them on. And because we are a loopy bunch, we started hollering "Screw you! Why won't you go in? Screw you!" when we had difficulty getting the screws into place.

Trying to screw the screws into place in no easy feat, no wonder we all went screwy!

A poet in the making am I not?
LOL.

To add on to our crazy bonanza, we had this conversation.

Poh Chee:
"We spent the whole afternoon screwing."

Naayab & I:
"What the hell?!"

*goes into laughing fit*

Me:
"Yeah. Three girls screwing. Threesome!"

Sometimes I really doubt my sanity.
I really do.

*grin*

After the intense screwing (okay, I'll stop it), we saw a thick black furry caterpillar crawling on the driveway, making its way to the front door.

In pure girly fashion, we started screaming.

As if that'll deter the caterpillar.

*roll eyes*

Speaking of creepy crawlies, guess what's inhabiting the mailbox?

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

SNAILS !

Or as we call them; escargot.

=p

Those gross and nasty perpetrators are having the ball of their time munching on our mails.

Eww....

Imagine those slimes and shits on your mail!
GAG!

But looking on the bright side, they bite through the envelope so we can just take out the letter without the hassle of opening it! Organic letter opener are they not?

Muahaha!

And because it's been raining so much this winter, they are everywhere. Every morning there'll be squashed remains of them all over the pavement as people stepped onto them unknowingly in the dark.

Total grossness.

Yuck.

Well on to more pleasant stuff, just got back from a bar in Curtin University. Had a drink with Poh Chee and Hazel, and we joked and clowned around like three loonies, laughing ourselves silly and nearly in tears.

And there's free hotdogs!
Gluttony.
Yum.

Today was quite a blast and real chilly too.

Gonna head to bed, into the comfort of my warm blankie and baby.

Good night world.

Toodles.

*muack*

Did you know that . . .

In Australia, induced birth is a very common practice as birth of a baby has to fit into the doctor's schedule.

(ie, the doctor has golf session in the afternoon thus induces labour in the morning)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Appointment has to be made in order to see a doctor for consultation.

You cannot just walk in to the clinic. They will not attend to you.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Asians are surprised that I even speak Mandarin at all.

"You speak chinese? I am shocked!"

"Yes I do. I'm a Chinese."

Australians are surprised that I can form a proper sentence in English.

"You speak English well. Where are you from?"

"I'm from Singapore, and our first language is English."

"Oh yes."

What's with all these misconceptions of my linguistic ability?

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I will only go back to Singapore when I'm done with college here.

Will not be going back during my October break as the semester exam is somehow dragged into the break period, and not to mention that the external exam starts in November.

WHY ? !

Why does NUS only have one intake per year?

And why must it be the Jul/Aug period?

Why don't they have a Feb/Mar intake?

I don't want to wait for more than half a year!

I don't want to waste any more time than I already have!

WHY ? !

OMG - On Melbourne Ground

Missed my flight on Thursday and had to pay an additional $70 late payment fee to change my flight to the next day.

And because it’s my first time ever to miss a flight, I was so distraught that I cried.

I had to console and convince myself that it’s just a flight and no biggie that I missed it. At the same time, I had to reassure Evee darling that it’s not her fault
that I missed my flight.

The gist of it was that we were going around in circles at the domestic terminal because the parking system was atrociously confusing.

So the next day, I got Baby to send me to the airport instead, as Evee darling had to work.

Baby came to pick me up straight from work and because it was still early, we headed to the international terminal as Alexis was flying back to Malaysia for her holiday.

After she checked in, we headed to domestic, where Baby insisted on waiting with me for an hour, and ended up falling asleep.

Having nothing better to do, I started snapping away, and took a secret shot of this really cute toddler.

I love his hair!
Can I take him home?

=p

Because I was on the evening flight, I managed to capture the sunset from above the horizon.

The colour was so intense and beautiful.
It’s one of those sights that simply took my breath away.

Touched down at Avalon Airport at almost 11pm and the temperature was 6°C!

A staggering difference to the 15-17°C range in Perth.

At that moment, I told myself
that I’ll never ever complain about Perth’s weather again.

Took a transfer coach (almost an hour) to my accommodation, and by the time I reached, it was past midnight.

All I wanna do was to jump right into bed!

But no matter how tired I was, there’s always time for some narcissism!

After which was time to tuck in tight, and away to dreamland I go.

Ice Ice Baby !

Today was my first ever encounter with hail.

I happened to be looking up at the sky when I saw a swarm of weird objects spreading right across the sky, and the next thing I know, small balls of ice were raining down!

The sound was deafening as they hit the metal roof of the bus stand and it was rather fascinating seeing them hit the oncoming cars at such velocity.

I was actually wondering if the screen will crack.
Obviously, I have a very active imagination.
Or rather, I wonder too much.

=p

A rainbow after the hail!
Isn't life just lovely?

The whole encounter lasted for a few minutes, and what a sight it was.

=D

Something totally unrelated, I present to you this picture, taken out of pure hilarity.

That's the backview of a guy.

I wonder how I'll feel if my guy's hair is better than mine.

I suppose I'll shave them off when he's asleep.

=)

I love my evilness.

Cuts & Bumps

Went indoor rock climbing at Rockface with Brian yesterday, and now my arms are sore and aching.

A parting gift for remembrance is the bruise on my lower back, which resulted from slamming against the wall while hanging in midair. Somehow, I also managed to hurt my chest because a region of my sternum is hurting now.
And my inner thighs aren't spared from being strapped in the harness.

BAH!

But nonetheless, it was real fun. Lots of laughs and silly jokes.

The last time I rock climbed was during an OBS course when I was 15.

Have been hitting the swimming pool for three consecutive days now, and going for Body Balance and Yoga whenever possible. Was pleasantly surprised when I managed to touch my toes during one of the stretches.

FINALLY!

*happy dance*

I've always failed my sit and reach.
Always.

I've also discovered small slits on my right wrist and fourth finger while working. I was buffled by the pain I'm experiencing as there was no apparent injuries when I inspected my hand.

Those nasty cuts only surfaced after a while with their usual tell-tale, thin trail of blood.

Bloody cuts.
Nasty little scheming injuries!

In a nutshell, it's just college, work, fitness and social.

And because I'm such a fickle-minded person with a wide array of interests, I've been reading three books simultaneously. I just can't wait to finish one then start on the next!

So right now I'm on The French Revolution, The Black Death; In the Wake of the Plague, and Fast Food Nation.

So many things yet so little time!

All about
: elise :

Jack (or is it Jane?) of all trades,
(almost!)

but Master of none.
(trying to!)

This is my paradise, where I indulge my senses grandiloquently.

A collective effort to keep family & friends updated, and for random strangers to pop by.

I wanted to put a HUGE picture of myself in this space, but being the technologically challenged person that I am, I can't figure out the mojo of it.

So I guess I'll just have to make do with scattering loads of random self-shots all over the blog!
