Personal Proximity.

There are some things that I am very particular about, such as using only the same design hangers for all my clothes, people standing very close to me, and people touching my stuff (even if you're helping to clean up, it's a NO).

My family members are quite angry with me at times because whenever I find out that someone is using my hangers or has touched my stuff (yes, even if it means cleaning up), I'll scream and curse and kick a big fuss.

Yes. That's just who I am. I'm a perfectionist and thus all my hangers have to look the same and I'm a control freak so only I can touch my own stuff. But I'm not all that unreasonable. If you wanna borrow my stuff, just ask and I'll lend. It's that simple.

In this entry, I wanna talk about the side of me which doesn't like to be touched.

Whenever I'm in the mrt and that it is really crowded, I'll usually just try to be as small as I can. If someone accidently touched me, I'll actually squirmed and make myself even smaller. I'll feel irritated and I'll feel annoyed. I'm not sure why I react this way. But I just don't like it when strangers touch me. Even if it's accidental.

I'm going to be brave and mention what I've experienced recently.

Within a span of 2 weeks, my butt has been touched by strangers twice.

1st, this horrible retarded looking fellow just walked past me and trailed his hand across my butt. Across both my butt cheeks. I was totally shocked and turned back to see who that fucking bastard was. And guess what? That disgusting fool had the cheek to stare back at me. This happened when I was boarding the bus. And so after I boarded the bus, I continued to stare at him (he did not board the bus). The most annoying and irritating thing was that he just stared back at me as he walked and occasionally turned back to look at me. What audacity! At that moment, I have no idea if I should just alight and go give him a tight slap or to just scream on the bus. In the end, I chose to endure this injustic in silence.

The 2nd time, I was on the bus. You know how the bus will jerk repeatedly when it's trying to stop, and the passengers will all lunge forward a couple of times? It was during this period that my butt was once again violated. This fucking moron was standing behind me and was hugging his bag, thus his hand was infront of his body. At the 1st jerk of the bus, his hand touched my butt and, normally under this circumstance, people will try to hold back should the bus jerk again so as to prevent accidently touching the person infront again.

But NO! The bus jerked about 3 to 4 more times and his hand touched my butt at every jerk. And the pressure of his touch increased with every jerk! After I alighted the bus, I tried to get a hold of myself but as I thought back on how fucking disgusting and bastardy these people are, the more I felt like exploding. So when I reached home, I broke down. I broke down terribly.

I felt disgusted and I felt violated. I can still feel the touch on my butt and I felt like scrubbing my butt till I feel it's clean or to simply just slice off that butt cheek. I felt horrible.

After these incidents, I made up my mind to be tough and protect myself. So the next person who touched my butt, I'm gonna turn around and give ONE TIGHT SLAP. No question asked and no answer given. Just ONE TIGHT SLAP.

Indeed I don't like strangers to touch me. But I'm rather affectionate with my close friends. I like to hook my hand around my best friend's arm. This is what I always do when I'm out with Kerlyn. So my dear friends out there, should I ever start hooking my arm around yours, that goes to show how much you weight in my heart.

But to strangers and "disgusting-and-retardly-looking-people-who-just-wanna-touch-others" out there, GET LOST!

Fuckers.

The Right to Live.

Having watched "The Island" and "Land of the Dead", I discovered one common message in both movies.

"THE RIGHT TO LIVE"

In "The Island", the clones are created just for the main purpose of harvesting their organs. They are simply known as "insurance policy". This got me thinking. What kind of an insurance policy is that? The insurance policy of long living? The insurance policy of eternal life?

The creator addressed the clones as products. Products with no feeling, no emotions. Doesn't feel any pain, happiness, sadness, anger, and doesn't think. No thoughts.

I actually cried towards the end of the show when all the clones were freed and looked around in awe and wonder at the world which they never knew existed and had never seen.

Some other scenes which I found touching were:

Now, let's move on to "Land of the Dead".

Towards the end of the show, the lead actor said that they shouldn't kill the remaining "stenchers". Cause after all, the stenchers are just like them. Trying to find a place to go.

My point of view is that, it is not their choice to be turned into stenchers and it is not their choice to feed off human. Indeed they are a threat to the humans, but should we put ourselves in their shoes, perhaps we'll understand how they feel.

Anyway, these 2 movies are definitely on my good list. I love movies with meaning. *grinz*

a little something: Rage

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else. In fact, you are the one getting burned.
- Buddha -

Usually when people are sad, they don't do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change.
- African American Civil Rights leader, Malcolm X -

Anger is a momentary madness, so control your passion or it will control you.

Office Health Day?

Today, everyone in the office was given a banana.

Yes, you did not read wrongly. A banana.

And now I'm wondering... Is this some kind of "Office Health Day" or what?

Day 1 of Internship.

Woohoo! Today was my 1st day of internship at IPTO.

Supposed to report at 8.30am but excited me, reached the office at 8am. Haha. I'm never an early person. So this goes to show how important this internship is to me.

I hope to score well for it.

Well, waited in the meeting room for the Senior Manager (Miss Yeo) to arrive. Was supposed to report to her. Waited and waited and then this other girl came along. She's Cindy from Accountancy and Finance. Chatted and exchanged our numbers. She's quite a chatty and outgoing person.

Miss Yeo arrived and gave us our files with all the forms to be filled up and everything and gave a short briefing on what to do. After she left, 2 other girls arrived. Laura from Accountancy and Finance, and Sugi from Financial Services.

So for the next 1 hour or so, all we did was to fill up all the forms (e.g. declaration of shares form, declaration of bankruptcy form). At the end of the file there's this piece of paper whereby they conducted a search in their database on whether or not we have been declared bankrupted before. Kind of serious huh.

Anyway, let me give a brief introduction of my work place. IPTO is under Ministry of Law and deals with individual insolvency (bankruptcy), corporate insolvency (liquidation), public trustee duty, wills registry, registry of pawnbrokers and registry of moneylenders. It is indeed VERY finance. No wonder I got posted there.

Anyway, I was posted to the finance department, together with Sugi. Laura was posted to the bankruptcy side and Cindy to the trustee's side.

So after filling up the tons of forms, we were given a tour of the whole office and introduced to all the managers of all the various departments. At the end of it, we were brought to our respective department to start our work.

My direct supervisor is Senior Officer, Desmond Ho. He's a very nice guy. And I do mean VERY nice. As the day went by, I realized he said lots of "sorry" and "thanks". Haha. So cute.

Mr Ho introduced us to everyone in the finance department and all of them are very friendly. Woo, I'm so blessed to have such friendly colleagues.

Anyway, the job scope of Sugi and I was to calculate the unclaimed surplus of all the pawnshops and to compile these figures. We're supposed to work backwards month by month and when I saw the files, I nearly fainted. 2 months' worth of receipts take up one big ring file and we have 4 years to clear. So there you, please do your own calculation as to how many ring files that will be. Haha.

Mr Ho told us that we'll move on to other work when we're done with the unclaimed surplus.

After my 1st day of work, I realized that there are actually people who doesn't want to collect their money. Some amounts to over 10k but still, no one bothered. So now, IPTO is taking the proactive approach by compiling the final amount and getting DBS to write out cheques to the pawnbrokers for them to cash out their unclaimed surplus.

This world is weird I tell you.

Anyway, very tired now. Tired from staring at all the figures and addresses. Going to Zzz now.

Tomorrow is another day of calculating and compiling. Hee.

A Whole New Chapter.

Tomorrow, a whole new chapter of my life will begin.

I'll be starting my internship in Insolvency and Public Trustee's Office (IPTO) tomorrow. It's under Ministry of Law. When I first got to know of my posting, I was rather excited and pleased. Excited because it's something new and pleased because I get to do something in relation with the Ministry.

I've been tidying my desk and wardrobe for the past 2 days, getting ready to welcome this new chapter. Haven't been keeping my stuffs in check during the exam period and gosh, do I have tons of clothes to iron.

Anyway, haven't been to my office area to check it out so I've totally no idea where the URA Centre is. Oh well, will have to walk and search at the same time then.

Wonder which department I'll be posted to or what my job scope will be. Will update when I know more about it.

Gotta have an early night today so that I'll look my best tomorrow. Gotta leave a good impression.

Good night and sweet dream!

Baby Teng Yi.

My exam's finally over but I'm totally lost over what to do. Nothing seems to interest me.

Oh well, at least I have one thing to keep me occupied. Been on a CSI-dvd-watching marathon for the past few days. Borrowed the dvds from Aunt Elaine. Went over to her house a few days ago and chatted with her. Also went to the playground with baby Teng Yi and her. Gosh! I got a shock went I first saw baby Teng Yi, cause he was actually standing up. Haven't seen him for quite sometime so I was totally amazed by his development. The last time I saw him, he still had difficulty rolling around.

Oh well, decided to devote this entire entry to baby Teng Yi.

This purple monster here is called Barney. It has its own TV show called "Barney and Friends". Actually, it's just some stuffed-up purple dino. I don't really like it though.

Anyway, I have no idea why but baby Teng Ti loves it alot. And I do mean alot. Baby Teng Yi is very playful and active and likes to go here and there. Can't sit down peacefully for a moment. But when he starts watching the dvd of " Barney and Friends", he's like totally stoned. Imagine a 1 year old baby under a spell. Not moving and eyes fixed on the TV. Oh gosh.

Usually, baby Teng Yi is quite fidgety when having his meals. But when he's watching Barney, he'll automatically opens his mouth for you to feed him. Oh well, amazing!

Anyway, no matter what kind of power this purple dino has on kids, I still don't like it.

National Mugging Day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!

Today is National Day but here I am mugging away for tomorrow's paper. Haiz. This is crap. Lol.

Oh yeah. Maybe I should name today as "National Mugging Day"! Yeah baby. But no celebration though. Bummer.

Speaking of mugging, tomorrow's paper will be my last 2nd one. Time seems to go so fast. A week ago I was still bloviating about how the whole exam week will be long and draggy but lo and behold, I'm already at my last 2nd paper. Time is passing so fast that it's scary. Soon I'll finish my exam and move on to my internship. And yeah man, speaking of that, wonder when will the IPP listing be released. Ohh.. Can't wait to know where I'll be posted for my internship. Haha.

Anyway, better stop here and go continue attacking my Investments module. I love this module! But hopefully tomorrow it will be easy.

All in all, today's a boring and brain-cells-killing day.
