Fishy Mambo

Tried out a new dining place in Northbridge during the weekend, The Fishy Affair Garden Restaurant.

I totally dig the name cos it's really interesting, and not to mention, scandalous!

And besides, I was having a crazy craving for fish that day (partly because I needed brain food for the upcoming tests. haha).

The entree was lobster bisque, which in my opinion, tasted really horrible. It was too salty for my liking and has a really strong flavour to it.

Of course, that's because I usually add no flavouring to my food at all! I prefer au natural.

And then came my all time favourite - caesar salad!

Halfway through it, I nearly choked as I bite into this chunk of really salty stuff, and I had to down quick gulps of my margarita (which was oh so bitter!). Imagine the transition from extreme saltiness to bitterness. Not very nice I must say.

Anyway, was later told that it might be the whole chunk of cheese which I bite into.

By the way, I've never liked bitter beverages. I'm more of a vodka/chivas girl than a beer girl. Next time if you see me drinking beer, do take note of my expression. Cos I'll definitely scrunch up face after swallowing it. Should be quite a funny expression. Lol.

I do like pure black coffee though, but I really can't recall the last time I had any form of coffee. Definitely never had one since I came to Perth. Not even the starbucks/gloria jean coffee.

Next up was the main course, Fishy Platter for Two.

There were yabbies, lobsters, scallops (the only shell I consume), oysters, mussels, prawns, calamari, potato wedges and these 2 wrapped up items which I have no idea what they were (minty & tasted like chinese).

And of course, I wasn't spared from the "try-the-oyster-it's-really-fresh" and "you-don't-know-what-you're-missing-out" talks.

I guess I'll never get the chance to go to Oyster Bar then. First it was Benjamin who mentioned that he went to Oyster Bar and wanted to ask me along, when he remembered that I don't eat oyster. And now one more person is saying the same thing.

Can't I just go there and not eat oyster?!

*pouts*

Shortly after dinner, was told that Metro was having Mambo Night. Yes, Mambo Night as in the Mambo Night in Zouk.

What can one expect? It was organised by the Singapore Student Association of the 4 Universities.

And of course, I get to experience the typical clubbing scene as when I'm back home. All the guys were just standing around and looking here and there.

And it won't be complete without the usual excuse-me-while-i-shove-you-aside-continuously-
to-walk-in-and-out-of-the-dance-floor
crowd.

It really feels like home that night.

And what's clubbing without all the weird things happening?

I got drinks spilled on me twice, and had a random guy coming up to me saying "I like you" and kissed me.

I would have punched him if I hadn't been in total shock.

*glares*

And I seriously look so retarded in both pictures! Muahahaha!

All about

Jack (or is it Jane?) of all trades,
(almost!)

but Master of none.
(trying to!)

This is my paradise, where I indulge my senses grandiloquently.

A collective effort to keep family & friends updated, and for random strangers to pop by.

I wanted to put a HUGE picture of myself in this space, but being the technologically challenged person that I am, I can't figure out the mojo of it.

So I guess I'll just have to make do with scattering loads of random self-shots all over the blog!
