Sacrifices.

Often, sacrifices have to be made in order to obtain something. And to ensure "fair trade", the sacrifices made have to be of equal value to that of the desired entity.

So let's evaluate what are the sacrifices made for things like:

GOOD GRADES

Time - spent on studying
Sleep - the late nights spent on revision
Friends - staying home to cramp for exams
Entertainment - tv programs, movies, chilling out, clubbing, games
Money - tuition, coffee
Brain cells - cramping everything in your brain, memorising tons of information

FRIENDS

Time - socialising, chilling out, getting to know each other
Money - movies, dinners, gifts, handphone bills from chatting and sms
Other friends - having to sacrifice one side for the other

LOVE

Time - spent together
Money - dates, gifts
Tears - all the heartaches
Pride - giving in when the other party refuses to
Friends - its just difficult to put your friends and love together unless you guys are really close

WEALTH

Time - spent earning your wealth
Health - forgetting to eat or sleep while being a workaholic
Money - toto, 4D, gambling
Self - lost of self in the rat race

FAME

Privacy - paparazzi, tabloids
Time - spent on developing those fame

POWER

Self - more responsibilities
Friends - you tend to lose real friends and acquire fake friends

Well, you should get more or less what I'm talking about here. Perhaps there's more sacrifices which I didn't manage to think off. Well, add it on to the list yourself then.
